St. Mary Magdalen School will be celebrating Walk and Bike to School Day on October 6th. Students and teachers are invited to walk and bike to school that day, if possible. If your student is in 2nd grade or lower, they MUST be accompanied by a parent in the morning per our Handbook. During morning carpool, students will check-in at the bike rack (in front of the pre-K) building and learn how to properly lock their bike. Students who are biking to school should do the following:
Plan a safe route (we suggest crossing at the Sharpley Rd. Light or the Florence Ave./Whitby Light)
Bike with friends
Wear a helmet
Be prepared to lock your bike
After school we will be having a bike and walker blessing at dismissal at 2:45pm. St. Mary Magdalen students who have registered for the bike clinic rodeo following dismissal will have a chance to get changed and will be provided a snack.
Bike Rodeo Clinic – Register Online
We will be holding a Bike Rodeo on October 6, 2021 at 3:30pm, meeting on the rectory lawn. At the bike clinic, students will learn how to identify maintenance issues on their bike, bike safety skills, and participate in the skills course. All students in grades 1-8 can participate in the bike clinic afterschool on October 6th but advance registration is required & the cost is $5 per student. Students must bring a bike (without training wheels), a helmet and a bottle of water; a snack will be provided. Question, contact Melissa Pollio at mcalvanicopollio@smmchurch.org. The clinic should last 1 hour. Register your student for the Bike Rodeo Clinic online at https://www.smmchurch.org/bike-rodeo.
