Job Title: School Librarian (posting is for current school year)
Reports to: Principal
Summary of Position: St. Mary Magdalen School seeks a qualified School Librarian to join our faculty dedicated to nurturing and developing the whole child through education, service, and worship. Located in north Wilmington, Delaware, St. Mary Magdalen is a Catholic school serving 540 students in grades PK3-8. As a specials teacher, the librarian is responsible for teaching all grades and for the curating and oversight of the Barbara Wanner Commons.
Duties and Responsibilities Include: Preparing spiritual development component of curriculum for students; Planning and executing dynamic whole group and small group instruction that engages students; Utilizing a variety of methods of creative hands-on learning, including artistic expression and storytelling; Instilling a sense of respect and discipline and guiding children to appropriate behavior choices in a gentle and age-appropriate way; Making sure the library is an environment conducive to learning (safe, clean, and well-organized); Communicating with parents regarding their child's progress in school as frequently as is necessary; Participating in the life and events of the St. Mary Magdalen community; Other duties as assigned.
