Our Catholic Schools Week service was a huge success! We donated over 8,000 pairs of socks to the Ministry of Caring during our monthly drive as well as delivering 600 meals to their three dining rooms. Well done, Bulldogs!
SMM will be hosting personal school tours on Sunday, January 31st, from 1-3pm, to celebrate Catholic Schools Week. All visitors to SMM will be required to wear a mask while on campus, and tours will be socially distanced with staggered start times to allow families to move through our facilities in personal groups. The Scholastic Book Fair is taking place from October 26th thru November 6th in our Learning Commons. Students will be able to shop during their library time, while parents, grandparents, and friends can shop our Virtual Book Fair online. The Diocesean theme for this school year is "Called to Serve", and as a school, we will be focused on the Corporeal Works of Mercy throughout the year. We began the year with an opening mass, led by our sixth grade students. The Dialog covered the event, highlighting the vital aspects of service to others.
After a remote learning semester at home, followed by a summer vacation, we finally welcomed our students back to school for a hybrid start to the fall 2020 school year.
The Healey Foundation is showcasing the work of our Development team in a new article "The Art of the Ask". We are proud of the work we have done, and the ability it grants us to offer increased financial aid to our families at this time. Additionally, the funds will support technology upgrades and teacher training as we navigate the evolving circumstances in the educational landscape.
The Summer Packet is now available for families to gather important information to prepare for the 2020/21 school year. The Packet includes a tentative school calendar, Summer Reading Lists, optional summer work assignments, school supply lists and our uniform policy. Have a great summer!
Alumnus Paul Dorsey, class of 1981, has published his first fiction novel, a literary thriller titled "Forbidden Inheritance". Town Square Delaware caught up with the author to hear about his motivations and inspirations for writing the book. Congrats Paul!
Join the us and the entire Diocese of Wilmington as we pray a special Novena from May 2-10 to bring about an end to the global Coronavirus pandemic. A Novena consists of nine days of private or public devotion in the Catholic Church to obtain special graces. The number nine is often associated with with suffering in various Scripture stories.

Per the Diocese of Wilmington, we will be moving the SMM experience online for the next weeks effective immediately through March 27th. While we recognize this is a radical change for many, it remains in the best interest of everyone involved.
SMM has postponed our annual 3v3 Basketball Tournament, along with the alumni games scheduled for Friday, March 13th at 8pm, and Saturday, March 14th at noon. Updates to this event will be made when more information become available.
St. Mary Magdalen students had the pleasure of visiting with Bishop Malooly on Thursday, February 20th. We shared prayers, poems, and songs to celebrate the Diocesan theme of the year, "Believe and See the Glory of God."
