SMM had the honor of hosting over 650 grandparents and special friends for Grandparents Day 2022! Visitors enjoyed performances by every grade, followed by time with their grandchildren for classroom visits. The smiles on the students and families faces were a testament to the love shared, and we are so blessed to have so many grand-friends as part of our community!

The 16th Annual SMM 3v3 will be held the weekend of March 11th & 12th in our gym. Proceeds for this year’s 3v3 event will benefit “Waggies by Maggie & Friends” The 7th & 8th graders will play on Friday night, March 11th, from 6:30 – 9:30 PM The 3rd & 4th graders will play on Saturday afternoon, March 12th from 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon The 5th & 6th graders will play on Saturday afternoon, March 12th from 1:00 – 4:00 PM All are welcome to join us at 12:00 Noon on Saturday for the Check Presentation and Alumni Game. The cost is $30 per team and each team will play a minimum of 3 showcase games (not elimination tournament style this year). Prizes will be awarded to the most creative team costumes.

The Scholastic Book Fair will run from October 1st through October 8th in our Learning Commons. Students will have the opportunity to shop for books during their library time with their class, and families are invited to attend from 3pm to 6pm on Thursday, October 7th. Join us for the 4th annual BULLDOG 5K, on Saturday, September 25th at 9am. This year, we will be celebrating St. Mary Magdalen Parish's 70th anniversary. Our out and back 5k runs through Sharpley, beginning and ending at St. Mary Magdalen School. Stick around after the race for ice cream, snacks and an award ceremony recognizing our race winners!

Serving on the HSA Board is a great way to benefit the SMM students and community. SMM is also seeking volunteers to serve as New Family Sponsors to be matched with a New Incoming Family. This is a great way to meet our newest SMM families, and take part in the community. No prior experience is necessary.

Our Catholic Schools Week service was a huge success! We donated over 8,000 pairs of socks to the Ministry of Caring during our monthly drive as well as delivering 600 meals to their three dining rooms. Well done, Bulldogs!

All visitors to SMM will be required to wear a mask while on campus, and tours will be socially distanced with staggered start times to allow families to move through our facilities in personal groups. The Diocesean theme for this school year is "Called to Serve", and as a school, we will be focused on the Corporeal Works of Mercy throughout the year. We began the year with an opening mass, led by our sixth grade students. The Dialog covered the event, highlighting the vital aspects of service to others.
